WIMA 1150 kHz Lima, Ohio DX Test



Date: Saturday morning (late Friday night), Jan. 5, 2008.
Time: Time: 2 - 2:30 a.m. Eastern Time, 0700 - 0730 UTC.
Modes of Operation: 1,000 watts using non-directional antenna pattern.
Programming: Programming will consist of special voice announcements by our own Fred Vobbe of NRC's DX Audio Service, music by the Ohio State Marching Band, Morse code and 1,000 Hz tones.

QSL Information: No eQSL service is being offered for this test. Recordings on disk in .mp3 or .wav format will be accepted as proof of reception. E-mail reception reports may also be submitted to limaengineering[at]clearchannel.com.

More information is available here. This great and historic station has long been DXer friendly, having previously tested in 1992 and 2005.

Hearing marching band, morse code and tones here in the Hudson Valley, NY - 60 Miles northwest of NYC.

Heard 3 Morse Code ID's during the test. First DX test this season heard here in Winnipeg MB

Heard 3 morse code IDs, and Fred Vobbe's voice just for a bit before it ended. I'm only 30 miles away from Hamilton's CKOC on the same frequency, so that local was dominating throughout.

Used a DX-398 and Onkyo TX-4500 to hear it... both barefoot.
