Montana "Big Sky DX Tests" Special Event
The state of Montana is one of the rarest of all for DX’ers, especially those east of the Mississippi River. Through the joint efforts of a lot of dedicated folks, we are now proud to announce a special multi-station DX test from Montana offering listeners a rare opportunity to log this state.
Special thanks go out to the ABDX E-Mail List, Engineer Ron Huckeby, Michael Richard of KEVA, and the staff of these stations for putting this test together. DX’ers everywhere owe them all a debt of gratitude.

Only KKGR 680 made it to my location in South Bend, IN. I heard distinct but weak code and sweep tones. I heard something on 750 under WSB but could not null it enough to get an ID.
No luck on any of the tests here in Memphis. Many thanks to all the folks who made this happen! Even though I didn't have any luck, it was great fun.
There was a decent crew on the IRC #mwdx channel, with many of them having success, most notably Bjarne Mjelde in Norway.
KERR-750: although I could phase WSB, a latin station was usually dominant in the null. I did hear some C&W music here and there but not enough to count.
KKGR-680: this one seemed to be the next best shot in the South East, but in Memphis is blocked by local WWTQ running 5 KW, about 11 miles from my QTH and a bearing within 3 degrees of KKGR =)
Nothing observed on the other channels, even utilizing Spectrum Lab to monitor the 1 kHz tone code.
Next time!
Here's the results in Montreal:
KANA 580:
Nothing on 580.
KKGR 680:
I received Toronto's CFTR for the first time.
KERR 750:
CHWO 740 Toronto and WJR from Detroit are two very strong night signal here and they make even WSB hard to catch.
KLCY 930:
Nothing, but a strong WGIN simulcasting Manchester,NH's WGIR.
KGVO 1290khz
Local station on 1280.
KEIN 1310khz
I caught a new and very clear CKEC 1320 signal from Nova Scotia.
By the way, in the last days, adding comments with that blogger feature was pretty hard and impossible to get to the form page.
Elwood, Montreal area.
